Re: Local Drug Dealer arrested

On Thursday April 19th Jemison Police arrested 40 year old Sherman Robinson of Jemison for Trafficking Marijuana, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Clanton Police Department Probation Officer’s, Wade Johnson and Tera Mayfield, went to Robinson’s residence attempting to serve an outstanding warrant on another individual when the officer’s made contact with Robinson. During their conversation, Robinson dropped a bag of cocaine. The drugs were immediately recovered and Robinson was detained. Jemison Police Investigators were called to the scene to conduct a further investigation.

During the investigation a search warrant was obtained for Robinson’s residence. During the execution of the search warrant, investigators seized approximately 3 lbs of Marijuana, approx. 10 grams of crack cocaine, and various items of drug paraphernalia to include baggies and a set of digital scales. The Marijuana and crack cocaine were packaged for sale. In addition to the illegal drugs, $4,220.00 of US currency, suspected proceeds from the sale of narcotics, was also seized.

Robinson has a long history of being involved in the sale of illegal “dangerous” drugs on our streets here in Jemison and beyond. Robinson is yet another person who chooses to sell illegal drugs and one that we will always do everything we can to ensure that he is held accountable for what he has chosen to do. Considering his past criminal history, upon conviction of these new charges, Robinson will hopefully spend many years to come behind bars.

My agency has a great working relationship with the Clanton Police Department and the assistance from them has lead to this arrest. Every Officer involved done an outstanding job and the citizens should be very proud of these officer’s and what they do for their communities.

Street value of the drugs seized is valued at $6,500.00

Robinson is currently being held in the Chilton County Jail on no bond

The city of Jemison is in the process of turning off unnecessary power sources, Mayor Eddie Reed said in a council meeting Feb. 20.

Reed and other council members noticed extra charges on the city’s past power bills and have begun to turn off lights and other power sources not being used by Jemison residents.

Councilman George Brasher said the power company recently billed Jemison for 314 lights, but he and other city employees have not been able to locate all of them yet.

“Last year, there were five services they were charging us for, but they weren’t being used,” Reed said. “We are going to make sure they are cut off. It’s very important that we do that.”

In new business, the council approved a water bill adjustment for Dot Bingham according to the city’s ordinance of one adjustment per resident.

The council entered into an executive session to discuss legal ramifications of a pending litigation.

Press release from Chief Shane Fulmer, Jemison Police Department

Following a week long undercover drug operation, the Jemison Police Department Investigators arrested 32 year old Wesley Ryan Morrow (aka “Fet”) of Smith Rd. here in Jemison. Morrow was arrested and charged with 3 counts of unlawful distribution (sales) of a controlled substance (cocaine). He is also currently out on bond for 3 other distribution cases.

I have received information and many complaints for quite a while concerning Morrow selling cocaine to any and everybody on our streets. Morrow is not just your everyday drug dealer who does enough to support a habit of his own and enough to get by. Morrow has been selling cocaine for a long time here in Chilton County and while making lots of money, he has destroyed many lives of all ages including very young kids. Sometimes it takes a while and now hopefully we’ve got enough to keep him in jail and off our streets for a very long time. In addition to these new charges, we are working with the DA’s Office to get the bond revoked on the charges he is out on bond for.

We are looking at making several other arrests before we conclude this undercover operation. Our Investigators and patrol officer’s who assisted have done an excellent job and I commend them for their performance. This is one drug dealer for sure that doesn’t need to be in our society doing these things that he does.

During the arrest investigators seized $1,400.00 in cash and a 1970 Oldsmobile.

Morrow is currently being held in the Chilton County Jail on no bond which was imposed by Circuit Judge Sibley Reynolds.
